I’d like to thank my brain…

pen and journal to remember who I am photo by Jan Timmons“I’d like to thank my brain for remembering me: a memoir”. I keep this very old card from a library catalog (remember those?) and this book title by Jimmy Breslin on our refrigerator door. A Google magnet adheres it–we don’t have a stainless steel fridge to which nothing sticks. The title makes me grin.

I haven’t read the biography and I really didn’t steal this card. If you read it, let me know. It’s 070.92 BRESL. Do we still use the Dewey Decimal system?

They’re still using the Dewey Decimal System – except now it’s all online. My library used the cards as notepaper once the catalog files were retired. Those big oak cabinets are collector items now…

    Breslin is good…worth a read…

I think the Dewey Decimal System is still in use – as per the numbers on the end of all of the shelves at the library. But it’s all computerized. It’s the cute little file drawers and cards that are gone.
