A walk along Little Campbell Creek today revealed signs that some workers don’t stop at sundown. Even when the creek freezes, the work continues, apparently. Other sights included the ubiquitous moose, a sun that curves in a low arc during these winter months, and the remains of the almost-full moon.
Following a cold walk, my photography course and related reading taught me how to care for the camera. “Let your camera warm up slowly. Place it on a cool windowsill or an unheated porch for a couple of hours so it can rise slowly to room temperature.” This tip comes from Cold Weather Pictures: How to Use Your Camera in Cold Weather.
Wrap a camera in a plastic bag. “The moisture will settle on the outside of the bag rather than on the camera’s outside and inside surfaces. You can protect the delicate electronics this way. In fact, it’s best if you place the bag on the camera while still outside, not when you bring the camera in.”
Nice – I like the late feel
Ubiquitous moose – nothing ubiquitous about them to the rest of us.
